Zane Smith was a standout performer for the Alba-Golden Panthers track and field team at the District 11-12 AAA Area meet as he won the high jump event.
In the area meet that hosted 17 teams in Sunnyvale on Thursday the A-G boys team finished ninth while the girls team finished 10th.
On the boys side the relay team of Dakota Melton, Luke Kindle, Jon Michael Chadwick and Tobey Shelton finished in sixth in the 4X200 meter relay with a time of 1:35.30. Shelton and Chris Chabaud finished second and fourth respectively in the pole vault. Shelton’s best vault measured at 12’ and Chabaud’s best vault measured 11’ 6”.
On the girls side Ashlyn Rodgers finished fifth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.85. Bella Crawford finished fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.58. The relay team of Rodgers, Mackenzie Parker, Beth Nichols and Aspen Howard finished sixth in the 4X100 meter relay with a time of 52.56, that same relay team also finished seventh in the 4X200 meter relay with a time of 1:55.36.
Kalli Wright finished fourth in the shot put with her best throw measured at 32’ 2”. Parker finished fourth in the pole vault with her best vault measured at 8’ 6”.
